About gv

Inspired by classic cars, old buildings, landscapes, and the rumbles of a V8, I try to bring my own style to 3D art.
Photorealism is my key inspiration, but I also love Rockabilly + Tattoo art, music, and the culture surrounding American Cars.

If im not burning the midnight oil with work, I spend my free time playing guitar, computer games, or designing more Tshirts and Prints which can be Purchased Here.

The beginning:
Starting out making 'Free Mods' for games such as GTA3, and The Sims, I was driven by a desire to see my favourite cars in the game environment, and to explore the virtual world. Vehicles have always been an interest of mine, as a teenager I raced Minis in a sport called “Autograss”, and have always admired the design and sound of classic British & American Cars.

Education:

Wanting to explore my creativity, I signed up to an Animation & Design course at Sunderland University. Learning different Animation techniques from 2D, 3D clay stop motion, and 3D computer, I quickly found myself using Maya (3D software) that was extremely powerful compared to the basic software I had previously used. This course opened my eyes to different uses for my skills, such as architectural renderings, product visuals, animations for TV & Film, and many more. After graduating with a 2:1 degree in Animation & Design, I returned to Sunderland University to broaden my knowledge, and graduated with a Masters in Multimedia Graphics & Design.

Clients & Projects:
Trading under the name 'GVGraphics' I have produced a wide range of projects for clients such as Waisoft, CocaCola, Fugro, and Nicedice, also producing work for individuals in the film making industry and scale model production. Projects have included Computer Games, Crime Scene Visual animations, vehicle creations for scale model production, Boat models for offshore simulation software, to name a few!

Present Day:
After gaining 3 years Game Industry Experience, and with 1 game title soon to be published, I am always looking for new challenges. Why not take a look through my portfolio to see examples of past and present work.
